"Bourakis" Restaurant

Bourakis family business history goes back to the 19th century. George Bourakis inherited the traditional "kafeneio" from his father Andreas and he decided to continue the business with his family in 1998. George with his wife Maria renovated the old building with meraki and love. Seasonal changes, outstanding ingredients, and a made-from-scratch philosophy guide Marias' menu. Maria and her kitchen crew curated lunch, dinner, and dessert menus, paired with the well-balanced wine and beverage program.
Located at Kounoupidiana in Chania, a ten minutes drive from the city's very famous beaches, other attractions, the airport, and the port, this casual yet polished family-style Greek restaurant features 120 indoor dining seats and 140 seats outdoor.

Fresh Raw Materials
From our very beginning we teamed up with local farmers and food suppliers because the farm-to-table philosophy for us isn't just a necessity of the present, it is how we were nourished. Consequently, we cook only with fresh and in-season ingredients from the terra Creta and the Greek land.
Cozy Atmosphere
During the cold days of the year seat by the fireplace and enjoy your lunch or your dinner. Bourakis restaurant's two dining rooms are renovated with "Meraki" and a lot of respect for the building's history. We used stones, wood, and recycled blown glass from the area to create a cozy and welcoming atmosphere for our guests. For sunny days, whether you're visiting the restaurant for a hand-crafted cocktail or a glass of wine, for a light lunch with the kids or sitting down for a family-style dinner with friends and colleagues a table under the grapes is waiting for you.
